DESCRIPTION:It is a great pleasure for Maritzburg College to host the Junior Skonk Nicholson Rugby Festival and to welcome 20 teams and their supporters to our campus. \nWe sincerely hope that all who participate or spectate will enjoy all that is great in schoolboy sport\, viz. the camaraderie\, team-spirit\, passion\, commitment and sportsmanship. These were all noble ideals fostered in his rugby teams over 35 seasons by the late Mr Nicholson himself – ones of which we today need to be more mindful than ever. \nA special word of thanks to the following: Director of Rugby Mr H MClick arnitz\, the master-in-charge of rugby Mr S Stopford\, the tournament director Mr W du Plessis\, our events manager Ms R Barnard\, Granny Macs Catering\, Mrs S Upfold and the Maritzburg College Marketing Team\, the school’s Estates team\, and all the first aiders and other helpers\, for all their hard work in making this festival a reality. \nOf course\, a special welcome to the home of the Red-Black-White goes to all the players\, coaches\, managers and parents – we hope you all enjoy the few days’ rugby and have an enjoyable stay in Maritzburg. \n  \nClick HERE for the FULL Programme \n

DESCRIPTION:The Michaelmas Cricket Week\, South Africa’s oldest and\, arguably\, most prestigious school cricket festival\, will once again be hosted by Maritzburg College from 20 to 23 September 2024\, for the 64th year.  \nMr Jonathan Oppenheimer began his formal association with the Michaelmas Cricket Week in 2004\, when he became the sponsor and is the single\, longest sponsor of the week in its 64 year history. \nWe are  especially proud of the list of past schoolboys who have gone to play on the bigger stage\, be it at Provincial\, Franchise or International level. \nHowever\, the four days are not only about cricket\, but also about renewing friendships.
