SIMON SINEK – ‘What keeps our spirit alive ’
Simon Sinek is a British-born American author and motivational speaker and very popular on various platforms such as TED Talks. I would like to share the following short video entitled ‘What keeps our spirit alive?’ which was posted on 16 June. I believe it is particularly pertinent at this time as your motivation levels are potentially low, with very little to look forward at school apart from assignments, tests and exams due to the impact of Covid-19 and its regulations.
Inspiration is different than motivation – we all need to have some form of optimism.
Leading on from that in another short video from Sinek which focusses on a few tips on how to make a success of your life and he uses the US Navy Seals as an example of what makes top performing teams successful in the world.
Two quotes to take on board as well as a follow on from the video are:
“If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.”
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
I trust that we all after the break of the last three days due to decontamination and deep cleaning of the school, are fully aware of the severe impact that this pandemic is having on people’s lives around the world and more importantly right here on our doorstep. Just last week Umgungundlovu was the second highest hot spot in KZN with the number of confirmed cases. Gentlemen we cannot compromise on your and anyone else’s safety. Please abide by the very simple regulations at all times and keep College safe. These are non-negotiables
Keep safe and healthy
