This term we are excited to announce three staff promotions to leadership positions at College;
Mr Omar Kajee takes on the role of HoD: Prefects, Mr Jonathan Tyler assumes the HoD: Leadership position, while Mr Lethu Shongwe is College’s HoD: Learner Wellness & Pastoral Support.
We asked each of these staff members to share their goals for these important roles…
Mr Omar Kajee describes himself as an energetic young man and an educator at heart, who is passionate to develop the leadership potential of our youth. With a keen interest in educational leadership and management, Mr Kajee is aiming to create a climate and a community of practice at College that promotes leadership learning.
Mr Lethu Shongwe says his motivation comes from his family and friends. He is looking forward to using his experience in youth development to help the boys rekindle their motivation, actively engaging with them at the point of their needs, and creating learning opportunities beyond the school curriculum.
Mr Jonathan Tyler is also College’s head of Agricultural Science, which is his first love. His experiences outside the classroom in the corporate world, have provided him with examples of leadership which he is keen to share with the boys. “I love seeing the young men grow through the experiences they have on their various leadership courses… ” said Mr Tyler. He believes that there is potential to develop a leadership and character education programme at College that other schools will strive to follow.
Well done gentlemen – we look forward to seeing your roles unfold at College as you help us shape the boys and build their futures.
