Last week, Maritzburg College was privileged and proud to recognise one of its longest-serving members of staff, Enock Sithole. Enock retired from College after having given an incredible 46 years of service to the school.
To honour this achievement, College has named the gates to the Food Court from Princess Margaret Drive, as the Enock Sithole gates.
As part of the naming ceremony, talented artist and staff member, Brent Dodd, created a stunning plasma depiction of Enock, which has been erected on the gate pillar, next to the plaques paying tribute to his service.
In his address, Senior Deputy Headmaster and College historian, Matthew Marwick, paid tribute to Enock as a soldier and servant of College, thanking him for his loyal and dedicated service to the school.
Enock attended the gate naming ceremony with his family, proudly wearing his MCOBA blazer, and unveiled both the plaques and the stunning artwork.
Thank you Enock and Brent! Your service and the beautiful artwork will be recognised and appreciated by current and future College boys for many years to come.
