THEME OF THE WEEK: DREAM BIG
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” – Milkha Singh
From Scripture
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” – Jeremiah 29 v 11
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
A Prayer
Dear Lord
We ask that you will guide each of one of us and bless us on our journey to achieving our goals.
Amen
This week’s theme is to DREAM BIG! Everyone has dreams of some kind, and while these may be unrealistic, dreaming big it is an essential part of life. To break it down in simpler terms, lets look at GOALS.
What is a goal?
‘A goal is an aim or objective or target that you are trying to reach or achieve with effort and determination.‘
Why is it important to have goals and/or dreams?
- Goals help to provide focus.
- Goals allow you to measure progress.
- Goals help you to stay motivated.
- Goals help you to beat procrastination.
- Goals help you to achieve more.
- Goals help you to determine what you want in life ultimately – that ultimate dream.
We, along with your parents, will help you select your goals as you continue along your path and your Good Man Journey.
This important topic will be discussed during your mentor group session later in the week in more detail, when you will be giving the opportunity to finalise your academic, cultural and sporting goals and dreams for 2024, as you continue on your Good Man Journey.
I wish you well in dreaming big and striving to realise your dreams.
