THEME: RELATIONSHIPS

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: ‘Relationships cannot grow without the proper amount of communication.~ Unknown

From Scripture
The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand – John 3:35

So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. – John 5:19
The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense. – Proverbs 27:9
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. – Proverbs 17 v 17

A prayer

Heavenly Father, we ask that you will guide and help us to treat everyone with due respect and tolerance in all our relationships.
Amen

THEME OF THE WEEK: RELATIONSHIPS

College is currently involved in research involving our boys and staff through Prof Cummins and ‘a School for tomorrow’, as part of our character education mentoring programme and positive psychology and positive relationships . You recently completed a survey and Mr Sparrow will shortly share some of those initial findings.

It is essential that whilst you are on your good man journey, you experience  healthy, meaningful and mostly positive relationships with your family, your parents and siblings in particular, your peers and your teachers. Often for that to happen, we need to be tolerant of other’s differences whatever they may be and respect their views and opinions. Not always an easy thing to do.

A large number of boys enjoyed a lovely evening with their fathers and heard an  address by Dr Craig Carolan, a positive psychologist, as well as testament form four fathers and a fun activity. You were building on your relationship with your father which is crucial at this time in your overall development and your journey to being a good real man.  Thank you to Mr Sparrow and the team  for their overall organisation of the evening. There will be another event next term. Please encourage your dad to participate and ensure that you do too and make the most of these special occasions whilst you can.

Mr Sparrow gave an address on the theme of RELATIONSHIPS – the full address is here.
