THEME FOR THE WEEK: REUNION: COLLEGE BROTHERHOOD 161 YEARS  

 

From Scripture:

‘Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves.’ – Romans 12:10
‘If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.’  – 1 John 4:20
‘A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.’ – Proverbs 17:17

 

A Prayer

Dear God, thank you that we are truly blessed to know that we have a brotherhood amongst us at College, and that we can rely on one another to help us through difficult times. Amen

MOTHER’S DAY

This Sunday is Mothers’ day.

What does scripture say about mothers?

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” – Proverbs 31: 26 – 29

Hopefully many of you will be able to spend time with your mother. It is time for you to demonstrate your appreciation and gratitude to your mother or ‘goggo’ for all the sacrifices she has made for you.

Please show this by doing something nice for her such as:

  1. Write her your own unique and special Mother’s day card.
  2. Give her flowers out of your garden.
  3. Make her breakfast in bed.
  4. Write her a letter and express how grateful you are for all she does for you and how much you love her.
  5. Compile a playlist of her favourite songs.
  6. Watch a movie or series together.
  7. Give her a photo keepsake.
  8. Surprise her with a handmade gift.
