End of Term Dedication Assembly – 13 June

From Scripture
As we stand on the threshold of the end of term, let us reflect on the journey we have embarked upon, guided by the timeless wisdom found in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8:

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down and a time to build up, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance…”

In this season of endings and new beginnings, let us take a moment to pause and consider the growth we have experienced, the challenges we have overcome, and the lessons we have learned. Just as the changing seasons remind us of the cyclical nature of life, so too does the end of term mark a transition into a new phase of our academic and personal journeys.

Let us approach the conclusion of this term with hearts full of gratitude for the opportunities we have been given, minds open to the wisdom that comes from both success and failure, and spirits ready to embrace the unknown future with faith and courage.

May the light of knowledge continue to illuminate our paths, may the bonds of friendship forged during this term remain strong, and may the love of God guide and sustain us in all that lies ahead.

As we bid farewell to this term, let us do so with thanksgiving in our hearts, hope for the future, and a deep sense of peace knowing that we are always held in the loving embrace of our Creator.

A prayer
May the Lord bless you and keep you;
May His face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
May He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
May you find joy in the journey, strength in times of challenge, and wisdom in moments of decision.
May your heart be filled with love, your mind with clarity, and your spirit with courage.
May you walk in the light of His truth, guided by His unfailing love and grace.
May you find comfort in His presence, solace in His promises, and hope in His faithfulness.
May your days be filled with blessings, your nights with rest, and your path with purpose.
May you be a beacon of light in a world that sometimes feels dark, a source of hope in times of despair, and a vessel of love in a sea of indifference.
May your life be a testimony to His goodness, your actions a reflection of His mercy, and your words a proclamation of His truth.
May the Lord bless you abundantly, now and forevermore. Amen.

REFLECTION
We have come to the end of a very busy term which concluded with your June Exams. Some of you have done very well, whilst others of you have not met your goals. It is essential that you review your overall performance closely, see where there are problems and strive to remedy the situation as soon as possible with the help of your teachers. For the sixth form, you will find that time will move very swiftly next term and before you know it you will be sitting your Trial Exams. You cannot wait until then to start working – you need to be focused and working from the beginning of next term.

Thank you to all our boys, for your commitment to College and all that you bring to the table. College boys continue to excel in so many areas and we are proud to acknowledge a significant number of boys today on their achievements.
