ASSEMBLY THEME: SERVANT LEADERSHIP
From Scripture:
When Jesus had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” – John 13:12-17
A prayer
Dear Lord, grant us the heart of a servant leader, to humbly serve others with love and compassion. Help us to listen attentively, to lead with wisdom and grace, and to always seek the well-being of those we serve.
May our leadership reflect Your selfless example, as we follow in your footsteps.
In your name we pray, Amen
THEME OF THE WEEK: Servant Leadership
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:
“The servant leader is servant first. It begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first. Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead. That person is sharply different from one who is leader first.” ~ Robert K Greenleaf
What is the difference between a traditional leader and a servant leader?
What is Servant Leadership?
- Servant leadership is all about putting others first.
- It’s about helping your friends, family, and community and making sure their needs are met before your own.
- It is about listening, supporting, and empowering others to reach their full potential.
- It is about leading with kindness, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
Why does it matter?
- Being a servant leader can make a huge difference in your life and the lives of those around you.
- It can help you build stronger relationships,
- earn the respect and trust of others, and
- create a positive environment wherever you go.
- It is a great way to develop your own leadership skills and prepare for the future.

How does one start?
- Be Kind: Simple acts of kindness can go a long way. Help out a friend, volunteer, or just be there to listen.
- Support Your Friends: Celebrate their successes and help them through tough times.
- Be a Good Listener: Sometimes people just need someone to hear them out. Be that person.
- Take Responsibility: Own your actions and strive to make things better for everyone.
- Think Long-Term: Consider how your actions today will impact your future and the future of those around you.
CONCLUSION:
Remember, you don’t need a title to be a leader.
By serving others, you’re already leading in the best way possible.
Start small, be consistent, and watch how your influence grows.
THEFT
There have been too many cases of theft on campus lately, starting with boys taking other boys calculators during exams without permission and last weekend a number of cell phones being stolen by your own peers which is extremely disappointing!
Let me be very clear on this; THEFT IS THEFT no matter how small or how big. If you take something that does NOT belong to you without the permission of the owner, then that is THEFT. We are going to come down very hard on anyone who has stolen from another, and the consequences are going to be severe, potentially resulting in expulsion.
So what is the message? One of our core values is RESPECT – respect other people’s property! COURAGE – stand up against a thief because that is what he is. There is NO place in this community for a thief! HONESTY – if you have done something wrong OWN UP! That is what a person with INTEGRITY would do. Finally, if we have SELF -DISCIPLINE we will not break the schools code of conduct. We need at all time to look after our valuables and ensure that they are locked away when we are not using them.
