Sporting Awards: Rugby & Hockey Provincial Selections 2022

College’s rugby and hockey teams continues to excel, and these are two key sports of the 19 sporting codes the school offers. Selection for provincial teams is just one measure of the talent, commitment and dedication of the boys, the wealth or training resources and the support of the coaching staff.

RUGBY SELECTIONS

This week, College was very proud to announce that a number of boys have been selected for the U18 Sharks Craven Week, U17 Sharks Academy Week and U16 Grant Khomo teams.

HOCKEY SELECTIONS

Our #RedArmy Hockey teams for 2022 continue to excel, and Maritzburg College is very proud to announce the names of the boys who have been selected for the KZN Inlands teams.

With 39 players in total selected, College makes up an exceptional 42% of the Inland teams.

College boys comprise 38% of the U18 A and B Inland teams:
U18A: Roan Marais, Matthew Ponter, Connor Fulton, Phiwayinkosi Dlamini
U18B: Michael Barnardo, Sameul Hamilton, Asanda Khumalo, Landiswa Seshemane, Alexander Styan, Aidan Carter, Awande Chiliza, Siviwe Sithembu
