Dear Lord. As we navigate through these teenage years, we know that the habits we form now will shape our future.
We ask for Your guidance and blessing in developing good habits that reflect Your love and wisdom.

Thought for the Week:
“We first make our habits and then our habits make us.” – John Dryden
The idea that “we first make our habits and then our habits make us” speaks to the powerful impact of our daily actions and routines on shaping our character and destiny. There are several passages that touch on the significance of habits, choices, and their effects on our lives.
In today’s scripture, the encouragement from Paul suggests that focusing on virtuous and positive thoughts can help shape our habits and, consequently, our character. These verses collectively suggest that our habits are not just routine actions but are deeply connected to our spiritual and moral lives. They reinforce the idea that by cultivating good habits and aligning our actions with our values, we shape our character and, ultimately, our destiny.
Women’s Month Initiative (August 2024)
Over the next few weeks, our boys will be collecting items to make up care packs for the Pietermaritzburg Rape Crisis and Lifeline Centre. In the address to launch this initiative for the month of August – Women’s Month, Deputy Head Prefect, I Jikijo presented very alarming statistics on the high number of incidents of gender-based violence in our country. The care packs will be made up and handed to the Rape Crisis and Lifeline Centre, and hopefully in a small way, provide some comfort to these victims.
SPORT
For the 2nd weekend in a row, around 700 Maritzburg College boys headed out of province, this time up to King Edward VII School (KES) for the annual sport exchange. In addition, there was canoeing action and the College 1st XI soccer team set out to defend their PRIMO 10 title up at Hilton College.
