Assembly 20 March – Happiness

ASSEMBLY: HAPPINESS

From Scripture:
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11

A Prayer:
Dear God, please send us peace through your Holy Spirit. We want to be happy and peaceful in the life You have given us in all circumstances. Your Spirit brings peace, and we ask for that, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

THEME: HAPPINESS WEEK

“Be healthy and take care of yourself but be happy with the beautiful things that make you, you.” ~ Beyonce

What does happiness mean?

Happiness is an emotional state characterized by feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfilment. While happiness has many different definitions, it is often described as involving positive emotions and life satisfaction.

In simple terms , happiness is a feeling of pleasure and positivity. When someone feels good, proud, excited, relieved or satisfied about something, that person is said to be “happy”. Feeling happy may help people to relax and to smile. Happiness is usually thought of as the opposite of sadness.

Key question: Is happiness a choice ?

Yes! Very much so.  Many happy people realize happiness is a choice and it is up to them to intentionally choose it every single day. Happy people are not held hostage by their circumstances and they do not seek happiness in people or material possessions. … Fully experiencing it still requires a conscious decision to choose happiness each day.

Key question : How do I choose happiness?

Here are ten ways to choose happiness:

  1. Choose to be the best YOU can be. …
  2. Choose to be around the right people. …
  3. Choose to focus on what you have, not on what you have not got…
  4. Choose a good attitude. …
  5. Choose to smile more often. …
  6. Choose to take care of your body. …
  7. Choose honesty. …
  8. Choose to help others when you’re able to
  9. Choose to let go when you know you should
  10.  Choose to embrace the next step in your life
